Aditya College of Engineering and Technology ensures a healthy and pleasant learning environment for the students. Newly entered students are protected by the institution from the threat of ragging.
Ragging in the college is absolutely banned and, hence, any student found indulging in an act of ragging shall meet strict disciplinary action, which may include immediate rustication from the college apart from criminal consequences. Our Institute has constituted an Anti-Ragging Cell in this regard. The cell is headed by Head of the institution, along with several senior faculties as members of the committee. Anti-Ragging members and Bus In charges have been delegated from all departments to constantly monitor the students behavior both on and off the campus.
Ragging Means:
Ragging is defined as: Any disorderly behavior whether expressed verbally or in written or by an act that has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student, or engaging in rowdy or indiscipline activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or any other student or asking the student to do any act or perform something which such student will not do in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment in such a that it has a negative impact a fresher's or any other student's physique.
Functions
- Anti-ragging squads shall be formed for each department, and these squads will be responsible for monitoring several sensitive areas of the institution (such as the canteen, parking lots, playgrounds, and dorms) to prevent ragging.
- Counsel the newly entered students with the assistance of professional counsellors at the time of admissions.
- Create awareness among the fresher's on the affidavit, laws regarding the prohibition of ragging as well as the punishments.
- Keep reminding students about the serious consequences which could be taken against them if they are found indulged in ragging.
- Wide publicity campaigns through posters, banners, seminars, and programs, etc should be done to raise awareness against ragging.
- Make surprise inspections of the rooms in the hostel where the students assemble as a group, along with the warden.
- Anti-Ragging Squad should conduct an on-the-spot enquiry into any incidents of ragging and the enquiry report along with recommendations shall be submitted to the Anti-Ragging Committee for action.
- As part of these anti-ragging measures, members of grievance redressal committees are constituted

Roles and Responsibilities
Roles & Responsibilities of the Chairman:
To develop self-confidence and establish a supportive environment among the newly admitted students by conducting frequent interactive sessions to address questions about academics, social interaction, and compatibility.
Roles & Responsibilities of Coordinator:
The convener submits a report to the Principal for any appropriate disciplinary action based on first-hand information and prima facie evidence. If the accused is found guilty, severe punishment will be recommended.
Roles & Responsibilities of Faculty Members:
Faculty members are stationed at various locations inside the college campus to monitor student activities. Members ensure that no student groups are formed, and if they do, the group is dispersed to avoid any nuisance. The incidents of ragging that occurred in the college premises along with actions taken should be displayed at several locations to make students aware of the administration's seriousness in preventing ragging. Upon receiving a complaint, conduct an investigation and identify the culprits.
Rules & Regulations
The All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, has taken a serious view of ragging incidents in educational institutions and has issued Notification No. 37-3/Legal/AICTE/2009 dated 25-03-2009 in response to the Honorable Supreme Court of India's Order dated 16.5.2007, which has ordered strict implementation of the following rules and regulations for the prevention and prohibition of ragging in technical institutions.
